Kristina is excited to start working as a new counselor with Gateway to College and Santa Rosa Junior College. Previously, she was a counselor and instructor at Contra Costa College, Cuesta College, and North Seattle College. She was also a Youth Employment Counselor at the Private Industry Council near San Luis Obispo, helping high school students improve basic skills and gain occupational skills through work experience with local employers.

Additionally, Kristina is a part-time career counselor through her own business, Navigating Transitions. She loves helping people recognize, and focus their unique talents into, rewarding careers that are fun, and that fit, their personalities.

She has...

  • More than a decade of experience providing academic career counseling and teaching self and career development and college success courses;
  • Received her Masters Degree in Psychology from Antioch University, Seattle and studied self and career development for over 20 years;
  • Studied creativity, dance, and theater throughout her life and enjoys bringing these tools into her work with students to assist with brainstorming, practicing new skills, and succeeding in school and career.

Other interests include watching movies, journaling and blogging, and playing with her (very active) Boston Terrier. She is looking forward to supporting Gateway students and helping them to clarify their school and career goals while providing resources to overcome obstacles!
