Taylor Colvey joined the Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC) adjunct faculty in January 2016 after previously working at SRJC for Migrant Education's Adelante Program during her graduate studies at Sonoma State University.
Her favorite prerequisite class at the SRJC was Brenda Flyswithhawks’ Psych 1A course. In the last three years she worked as a College Advisor for 10,000 Degrees—a nationally recognized college access program based in Marin County. Taylor is a counselor for the Gateway to College program at SRJC Petaluma, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Sonoma Valley and is completing Professional Clinical Counselor Intern hours with Petaluma City Schools. She enjoys helping students with college admissions and has attended numerous college conferences such as National College Access Network (NCAN), Ensuring Transfer Success (ETS), and is current member of the National Association of College Admissions Counseling (NACAC). In 2015, she began reading Freshman applications as a Reader for UC Berkeley. Taylor is thrilled to be part of the amazing faculty, staff and counseling team at the SRJC and hopes to continue as an adjunct counselor and complete her clinical counseling hours. Originally from San Diego, she has called the San Francisco Bay Area home for the last 16 years.
